The Dance Academy of Prince Rupert has once again represented the city admirably at a large out-of-town festival.
The 48th Prince George Dance Festival attracted more than 1,300 entries to the March 14 - 21, a record in the event’s history that required organizers to extend it by a day-and-a-half.
More than 500 performers from 19 studios across B.C. and into Yukon graced the stage of the 788-seat Vanier Hall over the eight days of the festival in a wide range of dance disciplines.
It was the first dance competition of the season for the Prince Rupert academy.
Prince Rupert dancers can now set their sights on their home event, the province’s biggest and richest dance festival, the B.C. Annual Dance Competition in Prince Rupert May 5-11 at the Lester Centre for the Arts.
